I must say I was truly proud to be Canadian when freestyle skier Alexandre Bilodeau captured gold in the moguls at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter games on Sunday. His dedication to a sport and his love of a brother was truly inspirational. In an interview with media after his performance he said “My brother is my inspiration, He taught me so many things in my life.”. Those very words showed me that the Olympics is so much more than winning a gold medal. I was impressed with his humbleness and sincere gratitude to his family, friends and Canadians – he is a true hero…
In recognition of his performance, Canada Post launched a Facebook application to celebrate our first Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil. The application was designed to promote a special stamp and for you to share in our golden moment by sending an electronic postcard showing your support.
